Celebrating Irish Heritage, Delivered to Your Door

YourIrishShop was founded in 2006 with one simple mission, to bring the taste of home to those who missed it most. Our main wholesale business has long supplied hundreds of shops across the UK as well as supermarkets, but we soon realised it couldn’t reach everyone. Back then, many Irish families living abroad struggled to find their favourite everyday staples — from a comforting cup of Barry’s Tea to the simple pleasure of a proper Irish sausage. We set out to change that.

Nearly two decades on, YourIrishShop continues to serve those longing for familiar flavours, while also inviting new friends to discover the warmth, tradition, and heart of Irish food. Whether you grew up with Tayto crisps in your lunchbox, or you’re curious to see what makes Irish chocolate, sausages, or butter so special, our shelves are here to welcome you.

Because for us, it’s more than just food .. it’s a taste of home, wherever you are.

Our History

YourIrishShop was established over twenty years ago by our parent company O’Kane Irish Foods to bring the best and most missed Irish brands to every Irish household in the UK. However the story goes back much further than that…. It was in the early 1960’s that John O’Kane and Michael Hasson (father and uncle of our current CEO Eddie O’Kane) first brought over a tonne of Irish spuds to a small lock up garage in North London, where they bagged them up in half stone bags and loaded them up in a borrowed van before hitting the streets to sell them door to door in Kilburn, Cricklewood, Shepherds Bush and Hammersmith.

Within a few weeks a van was acquired and pubs were the next target as captured in the iconic Irish painting “The Crown” by renowned Irish artist Bernard Canavan and now immortalised forever in the mural at Cricklewood railway station. Fast forward sixty years and O’Kane Irish Foods is the largest dedicated importer of Irish products into the UK.
